A fighter aircraft F-16 armed force of the United State (US), was reported missing at around in the middle of doind exercises off the coast of italy, on Tuesday (01/29/2013).

The U.S. Air Force has deployed a search operation in adverse weather conditions with limited visibility, after they lost contact with the plane.

The headquarters of Fighter Wing 31. at Aviano Air Base in Italy, said the aircraft was flown by a pilot, lost contact with the cintrol tower while flying over the Adriatic Sea. As quoted from Skynews.com.

Iron bird, according to them are not equipped with guns.
Italian coast guard , has deployed its members to assist in the search and rescue.

Search operation was also aided by a helicopter, and four commercial ships. They are combing the waters 10-16 miles from Cervia, on the northern coast of the Adriatic.

"The search was continued despite the darkness and bad weather," said Coast Guard spokesman.
